Our nation is in more trouble than we think. Congress us planning new gun restrictions and limits on the Second Amendment. Now, what should you really need to know is government, especially, a government looking to limit the rights and freedoms of its citizens is that they never propose things changes that they cannot do in other areas.
Here is what the proposed new gun legislation is:
1. One now trending in the House wold require a federal license to possess a firearm--and licenses would only be available to those 21 and older. That means no more shooting at the range with our children or grandchildren. No more hunting looking for that once in a life time buck.
2. A national gun-registry that is publicly searchable. that means that anyone and everyone can learn what firearms you own and where you store that weapon.
3. Each year you will be required to purchase an $800 insurance policy from the Federal government.
4. You will not be allowed to let someone other than yourself to fire your gun without first obtaining permission from the Office of the Attorney-General of the United States. Failure to obtain written permission will find you facing a 15 year or longer prison term.
5. Your entire family will be subjected to a government psychological exam. Under this legislation, before being allowed to purchase a firearm, government agents will interview you, your spouse, former spouse and your children and close friends to determine your suitability for gun ownership.
6. This bill will force Americans to keep every gun they own unloaded in a locked safe with trigger guards. (this is already mandated in California) and ammo stored in a separate location.
7. All shotgun shells will be banned.
Now, some of you may believe these proposals are necessary to protect the public from gun violence. The truth of the matter is that most people killed by handguns are criminals killing each other. The number of suicides or gun accidents are statistically insignificant. If you have read down this far, thank you. You need to remember that the people looking to limit your Second Amendment rights are not working in a vacuum. If this passes, you will find your other rights being limited as well. Government will want to know what books you read, people you talk and meet with. They may then determine that government does like your diet and they will start limiting your food choices. They've already tried that in New York. Look at what has happened to your freedoms in the last 12 months under the guise of this pandemic. Government limited many of your constitutional rights for a virus that offered a better than 98% survival rate. Germany in the 1930"s said if we take away their freedoms little by little the people will never realize it before its too late.
