The new Peugeot 3008 as a rechargeable hybrid

The Peugeot is proud to present the new 3008 SUV.

The new Peugeot 3008 is a guide in the compact SUV market, with more than 800,000 vehicles delivered since its launch in 2016. It has delivered an outstanding commercial achievement in Europe and internationally.

Its inspired new perspective sets the mood for a new era of modernity with ever more clarity, a redesigned front end, new Full LED rear lights, new body colours and a new "Black Pack" option.

The new Peugeot 3008 absolutely embraces the power of choice, an idea that the brand holds very precious. It comes with a rechargeable hybrid motor, two or four-wheel drive and petrol or diesel engines, mixing driving enjoyment and performance.

Without endangering the smart technologies, the new SUV PEUGEOT 3008 arrives with the latest driving aids and a new PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® with a new high-quality display headset and a new 10-inch digital camera touch screen.

To create these extensive experiences, it has the new commercial range construction, which was recently inaugurated on the PEUGEOT 308. This is made up of 3 levels of finishes with, for each of them, a new set of equipment known as a "pack". Furthermore, depending on the country of sale, the new PEUGEOT 3008 can be purchased on the "PEUGEOT STORE" online sales site, which offers 100% digital shopping, trade-in, funding and distribution opportunities.

To stay one step ahead in terms of design and style, the front end of the new PEUGEOT 3008 has grown towards a practice that is as distinctive and unique as ever. This overjoyed design is setting the codes for the next phase of modernity while increasing elegance and energy. A new frameless grille symbolises the increasingly modern style while maintaining a fluid manner. The designer's words extend with fins under the headlamps to connect all of the details. And lastly, the

the nose of the bonnet now arrogantly displays the model's monogram, as does the entire Peugeot range.

To emphasise the sportiness of the car, shiny black side scoops and a decorated tread plate have been included in the new bumper from the first trim level.

There is a specific grille on the Peugeot 3008 GT / GT Pack with a scalable design pattern to emphasise the stylistic upgrade of the GT versions. The front headlamps have also been redesigned to be more dynamic and to split even more from current codes. They include LED technology from the very first level and are extended by hook-shaped DRLs with a chrome tip. This light mark is perfectly in line with the current Peugeot style and is identifiable at first look.

On the Peugeot 3008 GT / GT Pack levels, full LED headlamps offer an even more high-tech and distinctive look, thanks to the extended light signature and the bend lighting function (EVS), which optimises visibility at speeds of up to 90 km/h.

Of particular note is the new "Foggy Mode" function which has replaced the fog lights. It is integrated into the Full LED headlamps and switches on the low beam headlamps with decreased power when the rear fog lamps are activated.

In 2023, PSA will inaugurate a new technical platform, eVMP, for the group's future large electric cars. It could have a battery with a capacity of up to 100 kWh.

PSA accelerates electrification, and the first step in this regard is the launch of the e-CMP platform, based on which the electric versions of the Citroen C4, Peugeot 208 and 2008, Opel Corsa and Mokka and DS3 Crossback are developed. The next step will be based on a new platform, called eVMP, from the "electric modular vehicle platform".

On the occasion of presenting the financial results for the first half of 2020, Carlos Tavares, President of PSA, provided some interesting information on the new technology platform. The eVMP will allow the development of two- or four-wheel-drive models, the latter having one engine on each axle, with total powers of up to 250 kW (340 hp).

Regarding the battery, a capacity is conveyed that will vary between 60 and 100 kWh. Moreover, WLTP cycle autonomy would start from 400 km and reach up to 650 km, interesting values for electric propulsion!

The new platform will be used for C and D segment models, the largest PSA range. To reduce costs, the group started designing eVMP starting from the current EMP2 platform to take over as many elements as possible.

The inauguration of the eVMP platform for electric cars is scheduled for 2023 on a Peugeot 3008 electric compact SUV. It is about the future Peugeot 3008, whose production will take place at Sochaux. The platform will also be used on hybrid versions.
